How do you install exhaust on a motorcycle?

I have a 2006 Honda VTX 1300. I have added new pipes and a jet kit. Now my pipes are back firing when I let off of the throttle. Any ideas on what I can do to solve this problem?

Check the exhaust gaskets, if they are letting air into the exhaust, unburnt fuel will ignite giving you an AFTER FIRE.

If you are running lean, you will BACKFIRE. It can be hard to tell sometimes because a minor back fire can be quiet.

The bike could be backfiring for a couple reasons. You could have an exhaust leak, or the bike is running too lean. If you checked for leaks maybe try different jets that came with the kit.
