how to reupholster a motorcycle bike seat?

I purchased a rear seat for my bf’s GSXR and it was reupholstered with this terrible looking leopard print fabric. I need to reupholster it and wonder if it’s cheaper to just do it myself.

Some of the self-fit covers can look bloody awful.

Find a decent upholsterer to do it for you- shop around and it shouldn’t cost too much, and will look a lot better than any DIY job.

I tried e-bay but they didn’t have the right one for my model

What can I do to fix a torn motorcycle seat cover?

Im looking to repair a torn and ragged seat cover on a honda cm450e cruiser. I cant seem to find any for that particular model and year on ebay. Does anyone know where i can get a replacement, OR how i could fox it myself. I was thinking if i could find a waterproof material at a fabric shop and practice my sewing skills…..haha.

Any ideas??

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

Check with your local Honda dealership. You may be able to order a new cover. All you’d have to do is pull off the old ripped up one, and then recover the seat with the new vinyl. Takes 1/2 hr. tops, and all you need is a flathead screwdriver to pop out the old staples, and a staple gun to put in new ones. No high tech skills required. It’ll look good as new. I’ve done this a couple of times with my 1985 V45 Magna over the years.
