Will it even FIT on my bike and will I be able to use my original chain without makeing any additional purchases.

Aluminum vs Steel motorcycle gas tank?
I was wondering what material most common motorcycle gas tanks are made out of? is it steel? stainless steel? aluminum? what are the advantages and disadvantages or each?
Steel is the norm. Aluminum is lighter, but can be prone to cracking from vibration. It is seen more often in custom tanks, especially for custom cafe racers, Guzzis, Ducatis, Tritons, and the like. Dirt bikes use plastic tanks. Most after-market tanks for dual sports and adventure tourers are also made from plastic.

You can order the material very cheaply online and have a go at the easy small trim pieces then work your way up to the more complicated ones or get the front ones done by a specialist and save maybe thousands overall. So have a go at pimping your ride or just retrimming your interior in some more exciting colours its easy. Here’s how to fix a gas leak on a Harley-Davidson FXR, when the gas is getting into the fuel gauge and leaking out of the wiring tube on the bottom of the tank. See my FXR Super Glide motorcycle on hoohoohoblin.com. Hope this helps you if you have this problem. I may well have been able to fix it without taking the sender unit out just by tightening the screws that hold it in. If your bike is leaking try that before taking it apart. The Harley FXR is the best bike they ever made. I’m trying to keep mine on the road forever.
