Easy way to remove paint runs from motorcycle gas tank.?
I had my gas tank suspended as I was applying the primer it swung too close and created 2 large runs. I only have enough primer to repair once is there an easy way to repair this without wet sanding it to the metal again.
Use a block and 400 grit with water. Only sand the runs and bring them down to the same level as the rest of the surface without going through to the bare metal. I think with enough LIGHT coats of paint it will smooth out and be as smooth as you'll need. Surface prep may be the most important thing in painting, but the primer is more forgiving than most people think.
