How to recover a motorcycle seat?
I'VE GOT AN OLD SCHOOL SUZUKI GS850, AND I GOT A CHOPPER SEAT OFF OF THE INTERNET AND IT NEEDS TOBE RECOVERED. I WAS TOLD ABOUT $200 BUCKS AND I SAID NO WAY. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME? OR SHOW ME A SIGHT THAT CAN.
i had some holes on my seat where a cat jumped on it with his claws out. i took it to a car ulpostery place and the guy did a great job. it was 100 dollars but it looks like a new one.
What is the best way to clean out rust in a motorcycle gas tank?
Muriatic acid? Sandblasting? New tank?
Use the 3 step rust removal system by KBS Coatings:
1. Clean with Aquaklean, a waterbased cleaner to remove all fuel residue, gum & varnish. Rinse clean.
2. Remove the rust w/ Rustblast . Rinse & let dry.
3.Seal the tank permanently w/ Gold Standard tank sealer…a nonporous coating that will expand & contract with the tank.

KBS also sells what you need in economically priced kits for different size tanks….for 5 gal, 12 gal or 25 gal
Twin Bike Engines?
Twin Bike Engines (TBEs) are engines comprised of two regular I4 OEM bike engines linked through a common crankshaft. But my question is whether you could join the outputs of both into a gearbox that puts it into a common prop shaft. Would the vibration be intolerable? Would the gearbox be needlessly heavy? Otherwise, I see that as a practical solution to adding horsepowert to a light car or motorcycle.
I think you will meet all types of obstacle's if and when 6ou attempted to make it street legal ~~
where can i find a new crome front triple tree with a 5-8 deg rake for my 73 honda cl350?
i want to turn my bike into a rigid frame chopper so i am looking for info to do this on the cl350. I already cut the frame and have it stripped down to the motor only. I found weld yourself rigid kit on ebay (i will have a local welding shop do the work) but need more finishing info on it. I want to run a fat rear tire and switch front and rear out for disk brakes too. the goal is to keep it low to the ground. I got it with 4.25/85-18 rear and 3.25/19 fronts on it. I would like to go down in height both front and rear. For the rear i want something very fat . Something that would fill a nice size fender. I am betting if i go down in height the chain sproket on the rear wheel needs to be larger(any calculators for this?). I cannot find any manufacutes that make a all crome bolt on raked tripple tree for it 5-8 deg.
I have seen these peoples kits
http://www.chopper-kit.co.uk/ame-chopper-kit-installation.htm
but they have none for cl350's
You will have to have the triple clamp made because no one sells custom parts for that bike. If you want a smaller diameter rear wheel, you can buy 16" rim and spoke sets from Buchanan. http://www.buchananspokes.com/Excel_chrm_al.htm
By the way, if your new rear tire has a smaller diameter than the stock wheel and tire you will have a lower final drive ratio. This means better acceleration but lower top speed. To compensate, the rear sprocket would need to be smaller. Best bet would be to get a larger counter shaft sprocket if you can, but no more than 1 or 2 teeth larger than stock.
The only thing limiting the width of the rear tire is how wide your frame is. But keep in mind that if the tire is a lot wider than stock you will have interference with chain. This can be remedied, but it is very complex, not to mention expensive too.
is there on the market a kit to lower motorcycle suzuki gsr 600?
I am not very tall and i would like to lower the seat height from 31.5' to 30.5'.
http://www.d2moto.com/items/item.aspx?itemid=647313, $20 for a lowering link. Lots of people do this to their bikes, just remember the bike will not be able to corner as well, so if you are a backroad or track rider you won't want to lower your bike. I had a 2004 ZX-6R and just got a GSXR750, I was surprised that the seat was about 1 to 1.5 inches lower on the GSXR, I'm 6 ft though so 31.5 is plenty low for me.
If you want to drag your bike, these will lower down to 28.5 http://www.gsxrzone.com/links.html
